Cloudboots are for everyone

Cloudboots compression therapy devices power up the functioning of your lymphatic system, speeding up recovery from, for example, rigorous exercise, and helping your body get rid of waste products faster. The device was originally designed for athletes, but it also offers an effective treatment for swollen feet, making it a great solution for people whose job involves a lot of sitting down, for example. Our devices have also helped many customers suffering from lipedema.

Frequently asked questions

Ask us about our products!

Below, we have collected some of the questions that we get asked most frequently. If you cannot find the answers you are looking for, send us a question using the form on this page.

Cloudboots devices have compressors in each of the legs that create pressurised air chambers. They provide a pressure-generated massage from the toes upwards, helping to remove lactate and other residual metabolites produced by exercise. After only half an hour, you’ll notice a huge improvement in how your legs feel.

Most of our customers have noticed a clear reduction in recovery time after Cloudboots pressure therapy as soon as possible after a workout. The benefits of pressure therapy have also been proven in several studies. However, we have always wanted to market Cloudboots with an emphasis on helping people feel good, without appealing too much to research data. By choosing Cloudboots, you will be supporting a small Tampere-based entrepreneur and a Finnish trademarked innovation.

Boots models of the Cloudboots devices are two separate units into which the legs are inserted. They are designed to be pulled up all the way to the groin. The pants model treats a few other important muscle groups and areas as well – the buttocks, pelvic area and lower back.

In other words, all the areas that are treated by the Cloudboots boots models are also treated by the more extensive pants model. The portable Cloud8 Rogue device with pants is our absolute favourite. For a more detailed comparison of the Cloudboots pants and leg models, click here.

You can learn about the programs of the mains-powered models (Cloud6 Lite and Cloud8 Active) here. To read about the programs of the Cloud8 Rogue model, click here. Our personal favourites are the lymphatic program and the whole-leg compression program.

If you are buying the pants model, there are no worries about size. If you prefer the boots model, you can find the size that suits you best by measuring the length of your inner leg from the groin to the foot. If your inside leg length is 82 cm or less, the best leg size for you is M. If your inside leg length is more than 82 cm, the best size is L. In the near future, the Cloudboots range will also include a leg model for extra-tall users. If your size is somewhere between the M and L models, we recommend choosing the larger size to be on the safe side. For more advice on choosing the right size, click here.

We’ll also be happy to help you choose! And if you end up buying the wrong size, not to worry – we can change them for you, free of charge.

The Cloudboots pants models are one size fits all – they have enough room for adjustment to fit most users. They fit best of all for persons within the range of about 170 cm to 180 cm (normal body proportions), but are suitable within a total height range of 160 cm to 190 cm.  Pants goes fine with waist sizes 36 to 42 (women), and sizes 28 to 36 (men). For smaller users, we recommend a Cloud8 Rogue device to use along with the pants, so there is no risk of their being insufficient pressure when you are wearing the devices.

The Cloud6 Lite and Cloud8 Active are powered from the mains, and the Cloud8 Rogue is battery powered. The different devices have mostly the same massage programs, but the pressure generated by the DC compressor of the battery-powered model is the strongest of all the models in our range. If you exercise intensively and want a device that definitely won’t run out of pressure too soon, we recommend the Cloud8 Rogue model.

Although we stand by the effectiveness of Cloudboots products, not everyone may actually enjoy the feeling created by pressure therapy. For this reason, we offer devices for testing to help you decide. See more about testing Cloudboots here.

Certainly. You can test our devices either at our location in Vuores, Tampere, or you can take home the device for a test period before making your mind up. Read more about testing here.

In addition to being sold online, our products are currently available in our own store: address Takamaanrinne 14, 33870 Tampere. We are open by appointment.

In addition, the Cloud8 Rogue model is also available for testing and purchase at the premises of our dealer Padel Tampere, at Autokeskuksentie 14, 33960 Pirkkala.

It probably won’t be possible to get your Cloudboots purchase from any further away in time, but our warehouse in Tampere is always an option! We do our best to dispatch products before 1 pm the same day for orders placed on weekdays. In this case, you may receive a notice of arrival from Posti even as early as the following day to tell you your Cloudboots are ready to collect from your local Posti pickup point.

Payments for purchases made in our online store are forwarded by Paytrail. For more information on this, go to https://www.paytrail.com/kuluttajille

Alternatively, you can pay by invoice. If you’d prefer this option, please contact Ville Mäkelä at our office (link to contact)

Cloudboots products are not medical devices – they can be classified as rehabilitation aids.

In case of problems and questions related to use of your Cloudboots, you can contact Ville Mäkelä directly by phone or by sending an email to tuki@cloudboots.fi.

We offer a two-year warranty on all our products. Cloudboots are highly reliable, but if there are any problems we do our best to repair or replace them as quickly as possible.

In AC-powered models, the pressure hoses are running to the compressor at the ends of the toes. In the Rogue (DC) model, the pressure hoses are connected to the compressor at the end of the thigh sections.

The pressure hoses have a darker grey connector at one end, which fits the connector of the same colour on the legs or pants and all the attachments.

In the Active and Lite models, the collector part is connected to the compressor easily. Just check that arrows in collector part are pointing upwards and smaller pins goes to holes pointed to them.

In the Rogue model, the compressor’s collector part is connected with the small arrow on the connector pointing upwards. If you attempt to connect the pressure hoses with the arrow pointing downwards, the pressure would proceed from the pelvis towards the toes, which is not intended.

The instruction manual that comes with each Cloudboots device provides detailed and easy-to-follow instructions for getting started and using the device.

The battery life of the battery-powered Cloud8 Rogue model is about two to three hours, depending on the selected pressure and program. However, the product can be used with the charging cable plugged in, even if the battery does run out.

Yes, you can – we haven’t run into any problems on our own travels with Cloudboots devices.  However, the battery-powered unit should be taken on board as hand luggage. If you have any questions before your flight, please contact your airline.

For most airlines (including Finnair), the power of the power unit must not exceed 100 watt-hours (Wh). In the Rogue model, the battery power rating is 54 Wh.

For home use, we do not recommend constantly removing the hoses from the pressure fittings of the Cloudboots legs or pants. When taking the devices with you to an event, it is most convenient to pack the product in the storage bag that comes with it.

The battery life of the Rogue model is about two to three hours, depending on the selected pressure and program.

The programs in these two devices are identical, but the number of pressure chambers is different. The Cloud6 Lite has six pressure chambers, and they are slightly longer than the chambers in the Cloud8 Active model, which has eight chambers. Due to the length difference, in the Cloud6 model the pressure in a single chamber is distributed over a slightly larger area. This is especially noticeable in the legs of the L-size model when using the lymphatic program B. The more chambers, the smaller the area over which the pressure is distributed, which increases comfort in use.

The mains-powered models (that is, the Cloud6 Lite and the Cloud8 Active) have a noise level of about 60 dB. This is not loud, so you can comfortably watch TV or read a book at the same time. And the noise level of the Cloud8 Rogue model is slightly lower than that of the mains-powered models.

Please remember to peel off the protective film covering the control panel when unpacking your new Cloudboots device. The easiest way to remove it is to start from a corner – and you may need to give it a good pull, as they can be tightly attached for maximum protection.  You’ll then notice that the control panel is an elegant black.

in the Cloud6 Lite and Cloud8 Active devices, the screw at the bottom of the compressor that is there to hold the compressor safely in place during transportation most be removed before first use. The user manual shows how to do this – and the manual is conveniently placed at the top of the package. After removing this screw, it does not need to be reinserted at any point, even when transporting the device.

In some cases, you may find that this screw is absent – if so, this is because this particular device has been selected for an additional random quality assurance procedure before leaving our factory. This is no cause for worry: the extra quality assurance test consisted only pressuring the compressor. In other words, if there is no protective screw, you need not fear that your Cloudboots device has been previously used – this is never the case.

The Rogue model does not have a protective screw, which means that first use of the device is even simpler than with the other Cloudboots devices.
