“I compete in Age Group categories of triathlon in Finland and abroad. I prefer the full- and half-distance races, but occasionally go for the shorter, Olympic and sprint races, too. My best results are wins in the international full triathlons in Tallinn in 2020 and Mallorca in 2021 and half triathlon in Lahti in 2021. My main target in 2022 was the full triathlon world championships in Kona, Hawaii.
As a sport, the combination of swimming, cycling and running make triathlon versatile, and in addition to these three I also do weight training and, in the winter, skiing. A combination like this puts a heavy strain on the legs in particular. I train between 10 and 15 hours a week. The races take anything between 1 and 10 hours, and training can range between short sprints at maximum level and hour-long, low-intensity stamina training. Added challenges for me include my age, full-time job and fitting all this with my family commitments. Long training sessions, for reasons of time management, often take place during weekends, which means that I want to use every means possible to recover well so that I can do my Sunday exercise with reasonably fresh legs.
In addition to good training, nutrition, sleep and body maintenance, Cloudboots are an excellent addition to speed up recovery. The mere fact that you have to stay still for half an hour when you put on the pants creates a relaxing moment!
Rather than use the boots, the better choice for me is the pants in order to expand the benefits to my hips and buttocks that are under a lot of stress especially in cycling. I use different programs, depending on how I feel, or combinations of programs, and change the pressure on different parts of the legs as necessary.”
